This group, which has been running since 2016, celebrates the role of women in society and history. The group follows the Ethos of U3A – by the members, for the members. Members choose who/what they would like to research, sharing their findings with the rest of the group. This year we made a slight detour and looked at women who were/are not to be admired. Fortunately, they are outnumbered by the amazing women who have contributed so much to society and history. December is different – we show a DVD relevant to the subject, to date we have watched Hidden Figures, Made in Dagenham, Housewife 49. Sometimes the link is tenuous – Victoria Wood, Acorn Antiques and The Lady in The Van. December 2023 it was Tea with Mussolini.
Come and join us. Men are welcome!
